The CALIFORNIA AUTISM FOUNDATION, a 501 C3 non-profit, operates
A BETTER CHANCE WORK ACTIVITY PROGRAM, community-based organization
founded in 1983.
In
addition to improving the lives of individuals with developmental
disabilities, CAF works to increase public awareness of issues
concerning developmental disabilities and
the contributions of disabled people to society. Funding
is provided by the Regional Center of the East Bay and by
the California Department of Rehabilitation and is CARF accredited.
Our mission is to provide the people with autism and other
developmental disabilities with the best possible opportunities
for lifetime support and training to assist them in reaching
their highest potential for independence, productivity, and
fulfillment.
A BETTER CHANCE WORK ACTIVITY
PROGRAM has been in existence for more than 20 years. We
have almost 60 consumers enrolled in the program with a
consumer to staff ratio of 15 to 1. The program is designed
to provide consumers with vocational skills and paid work
experience that will enable them to work productively and
independently. |
