WHO WE ARE

California Autism Foundation (CAF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been providing life-long services to more than 250 people with autism and other developmental disabilities for over 25 years. Our programs include residential homes, a nonpublic school, supported living services, a work activity program, and adult day programs.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Educational Specialist

ABC School is looking for educational specialists who are motivated and energetic individuals with a desire to become part of our school program.

Our Educational Specialists provide an integral part of our program as they directly implement (on a 2:1 or 1:1 basis) the individualized education and behavior plans designed for each child by the classroom teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates with a BA and/or related experience preferred. Positions are full time with competitive wages and benefits package. Internships are available.

Direct Support Professional

CAF is looking for motivated Direct Support Professionals to work in our Adult Residential Homes.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, Part-time, overnight shifts, hours vary

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide training, advocacy, and support services to disabled adult consumers
  • Assist adult consumers with developmental disabilities in their home with daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, bathing, etc. and in the community
  • Transport consumers to and from home to medical appointments and activities
  • Crisis management and behavioral interventions as necessary
  • Implementation of consumers' ISP and IPP goals and modeling and teaching appropriate living skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree is psychology or related studies preferred
  • At least two years experience in a residential home environment and /or supervision of developmentally disabled consumers in a work activity or day program
  • Ability to meet Community Care Licensing requirements which include a physical examination, TB test, and DOJ and FBI criminal record clearance
  • At least 21 years of age
  • A valid California driver's license, personal vehicle insurance coverage, and a driving record acceptable to the agency's insurance company
  • Ability to work well with a diverse population of clients, families, and staff
